You're putting in a lot of effort to get a stunning manicure... but you're not getting the results you want? Don't panic! YAKA reveals the 3 mistakes to avoid for a perfect nail polish application. You'll see, it's simple and it makes all the difference ✨
1. Applying polish to unprepared nails
Before you even open your bottle, ask yourself this question: are my nails clean and dry? Because yes, oil, cream, or even water can prevent your polish from adhering properly. The result? It chips faster or doesn't dry well.
👉 YAKA Tip: Always start by washing and thoroughly drying your hands, then wipe your nails with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover (even if you don't have polish on!) to degrease them. And most importantly: no cream before applying the polish
2. Applying too much polish at once
We all want an intense, shiny color... right away! But if you load your brush and apply too thick a coat, the polish will:
- Bubble or wrinkle 👎
- Run onto the skin (hello smudges...) 😩
👉 YAKA Tip: Apply your polish in two thin coats. It looks better, dries better, and is easier to control!
3. Not letting your polish dry long enough
We've all experienced that moment: you've just finished your manicure and then, you touch your phone, tie your shoelaces, open a drawer... and it's a DISASTER. Scratched, distorted, ruined polish
👉 YAKA Tip: Let it dry thoroughly between each coat (about 1 to 2 minutes), then wait at least 5 minutes after the last coat before doing anything with your hands. And if you're in a hurry, you can dip your nails in cold water or use a drying oil made from natural ingredients!
In summary: properly prepare your nails + be patient + let your polish dry thoroughly = a perfect YAKA manicure! 💖
